Your OgunquitFest Weekend, Planned (With Plenty of Stops at CREW)
Your OgunquitFest Weekend, Planned (With Plenty of Stops at CREW)
OgunquitFest is back for its 23rd year, October 23–25, and the whole village turns into one big fall party. There are costumed kids on Main Street, classic cars at the beach, dogs in capes, and a crowd of brave souls racing through Perkins Cove in high heels. It's one of our favorite weekends of the year.
CREW sits at 8 Shore Road, right in the village across from The Front Porch, so you can walk to most of the action. Here's how we'd spend the weekend.
Friday, October 23: Treats and a Little Spooky
Afternoon: oysters before the costumes come out.
Buck a Shuck runs 2–4 PM: $1 oysters at the bar. It's a good way to start the weekend before downtown fills up.
5–7 PM: Downtown Trick or Treating.
Bring the kids to downtown Ogunquit, where local businesses hand out treats to every little ghost and goblin. While you're out, vote for your favorite pumpkin in the Jack-O-Lantern Contest at RE/MAX Realty One, 84 School Street.
6–9 PM: Haunted Theatre.
The 101-year-old Leavitt Theatre on Main Street becomes a walk-through haunted house for six nights only. It's an Ogunquit Halloween tradition.
Dinner and music at CREW.
After the candy run, come in for dinner. Live music starts at 8:30 PM, so grab a table, order a cocktail and settle in for the night.
Saturday, October 24: The Big Day
Start with brunch.
Brunch runs until 1 PM, and we've added new items to the menu, including French toast, avocado toast, and Southern Biscuits & Honey Butter. Fuel up here first, because Saturday is packed.
9 AM–4 PM: Artisan Craft Fair, Day 1.
More than 50 local makers set up at the Dorothea Jacobs Grant Common and the Dunaway Center on School Street, with live music and local snacks. It's a good place to get a head start on holiday gifts.
10 AM–1 PM: 18th Annual Classic Car Show.
Hundreds of classic cars line up at Main Beach, with live music from local musicians. It's free for spectators.
10:30 AM: Spooktacular Fun in Perkins Cove.
The children's costume parade (adults welcome) runs from the Barnacle Billy's lot to Rotary Park, followed by trick-or-treating at Cove businesses.
9 AM–3 PM: Fire Department Open House.
The Ogunquit Fire Department turns 125 this year. Its open house at 15 School Street has station and truck tours, CPR demos, historical displays and kids' activities.
2 PM: DogtoberFest Costume Parade.
This is the cutest thing you'll see all weekend. Costumed pups gather at the entrance to Main Beach. Registration begins at 1:15 PM, and judging is at 2:15 PM.
Evening: back to CREW.
Your feet will be tired by now. Come in for dinner and drinks, and stay for live music at 8:30 PM.
Sunday, October 25: Brunch, Football and the Dash
Brunch until 1 PM.
Take it slow with a Bloody Mary and something from the new brunch menu before heading back out.
10 AM–2 PM: Artisan Craft Fair, Day 2.
This is your last chance for those one-of-a-kind finds.
Football on our screens.
If you have a team to cheer for, spend the afternoon with us. There's plenty of room to watch, and there's food and drink to go with it.
3 PM: Frannie Peabody High Heel Dash.
The weekend ends in Perkins Cove, where racers in heels at least 2 inches high compete for Best Time, Highest Heel and Most Outrageous Costume. Registration opens at 2:30 PM, and proceeds benefit the Frannie Peabody Center. Come cheer, or lace up (or strap in) and run it yourself.
One more round.
Swing back to CREW after the Dash to toast the weekend.
Staying Into the Week?
Monday: Trivia with Alex at 6:30 PM.

Save the Date: A Proper Monster Mash
