The New Englander: CREW's Weekday Breakfast That Locals Actually Know About

Start your morning in Ogunquit the right way. CREW's New Englander breakfast special runs Monday–Friday, 8am–1pm — and everybody's talking about it.

If you've spent any time in Ogunquit in the off-season, you know the magic of having this town mostly to yourself. The Marginal Way is quiet, parking is free, and the pace of everything slows down in the best possible way. What a lot of visitors— don't realize is that CREW is open and serving one of the best breakfasts on the Southern Maine coast, Monday through Friday from 8am to 1pm.

We call it the New Englander, and it's become one of those things regulars quietly count on.

What Is the New Englander?

The New Englander breakfast special is our weekday morning offering — a proper sit-down breakfast in a coastal setting that doesn't feel rushed. Think two eggs, your choice of meat, home fries, and toast. It evens includes Carpe Diem Coffee. We have the kind of atmosphere that makes you want to linger over a second cup. Our special runs Monday through Friday from 8am to 1pm,  which makes it the perfect anchor for a slow spring morning in Ogunquit.

The Perfect Ogunquit Morning

Here's how we'd build the ideal weekday in Ogunquit around it:

Start at CREW when we open at 8am. Grab a window table, order breakfast, and ease into the day. The restaurant has that open, coastal feel — navy walls, warm light, and none of the summer crowd. It's genuinely one of the nicest ways to start a day on the Maine coast.

From there, head down to the Marginal Way — the 1.25-mile cliffside walk along the Atlantic that starts off Shore Road and ends at Perkins Cove. In spring, you'll practically have it to yourself. Walk to Perkins Cove, watch the lobster boats, and loop back. The whole thing takes about an hour at a leisurely pace.

And if you time it right, you're back by noon — which means you still have time to catch Buck A Shuck at CREW starting at 1pm (Monday through Thursday) if you're in the mood for oysters and a cocktail to close out the morning.

Why Spring Is the Best Time for This

Summer in Ogunquit is wonderful, but it's also crowded, loud, and fully booked. Spring is when the town belongs to the people who actually know it. Parking is free through late April, the beach is serene, the Marginal Way has elbow room, and the restaurants that are open — like CREW — can actually give you their full attention.

The New Englander is one of those locals-in-the-know things. It's not plastered on every tourist sign. But if you ask anyone who comes to Ogunquit regularly in the spring or fall, they'll tell you: starting the day at CREW is part of the ritual.

Come Find Your Morning Spot

Whether you're a local looking for a weekday routine or a visitor trying to experience Ogunquit the way regulars do, the New Englander breakfast at CREW is worth building your morning around.

We're open Monday through Friday, 8am to 1pm. Come hungry, take your time, and don't rush — that's kind of the whole point
